Usar cordas de boa qualidade em seu ukulele pode fazer uma grande diferença, principalmente pela forma como elas soam.
Ukuleles novos muitas vezes vêm com cordas de baixa qualidade, o que pode fazer com que, ao tocar as primeiras vezes, você sinta que não era bem o que imaginava, mas essa impressão cai por terra quando o encordoamento é trocado por um de melhor qualidade.

Comprar cordas de ukulele não é tão simples. Duas coisas você deve levar em consideração: o tamanho do ukulele e qual afinação você ira utilizá-lo.
É muito importante verificar para qual tamanho de ukulele as cordas foram feitas.

Correias e alças

Tocar ukulele em pé pode ser um pouco mais complicado do que se pensa, principalmente para quem está começando, se você estiver tocando uma música mais complicada, aí a dificuldade aumenta muito.

Por isso muitas pessoas optam em usar uma correia, assim como no violão.

Mas, originalmente não se toca ukulele com correia, se segura apoiando o ante braço da mão que palheta ou dedilha e com a outra mão, os acordes facilitam a sustentação no braço do instrumento.

Desta forma, não temos (com raríssimas exceções) botão para abotoarmos uma correia, mas é possível instalá-lo com a orientação de um luthier.

Opinião pessoal, não aconselho essa prática, porém, o youtube está recheado de vídeos onde as pessoas tocam com correia e elas também são vendidas aos montes pelo Ebay, portanto é conveniente falarmos a respeito.

Existe uma alternativa menos agressiva ao instrumento, que são as alças. Elas dispensam o botão, evitando assim que o instrumento seja perfurado.

Elas são encaixadas na boca do ukulele passando por trás do corpo e dando a volta no pescoço do ukulelista.
